Democrazy is a new body of work by graphic designer Steve Price who, in his spare time, runs Plan-B Studio. ‘Bankers being paid bonuses, current and former bank chiefs retiring on £693k a year pensions? The government racking up our UK tax payer debt liability to £3.4 Trillion by 2012? Any of this annoying you too?’ First came the Keep Spending and Stay in Debt inspired by the supreme genius of the Keep Calm and Carry On poster from 1939. Which was produced in the event of being invaded by the Germans. My 2009 version highlights a new invasion; labelled as a ‘Global credit crunch’, but really the result of greedy capitalist bankers who knew better, but failed to care.
