Democracy + Villains - The Hub

Democracy Two Point Zero
by Steve Price

The Hub Kings Cross
34b York Way, London N1 9AB
Thursday 6th - 31st August 2009

Democracy Two Point Zero is a collection of twenty sociopolitical, satirical screenprints; paying tribute to, asking questions of, or challenging the big topics; democracy, the banking system, the bankers, Twitter, Mobile phones and (of course) Michael Jackson.

Inspired by the Guardian’s G2 supplement cover from November 8th 2004 (the day after Bush was re-elected) this collection represents my interpretations of events, people, political happenings and social developments.

The design is purposely simple, challenging; tweaking words, or injecting subtle use of symbols to present my interpretation of the reality. And is now on it's second 'tour of duty' at the lovely Hub in Kings Cross where my work sits alongside the stunning 'Super Villains' series by Robin Clare.

Thanks to Hege, and Eleanor.
